In the News

  • Members from SAU Tech's team including VC of Academic Affairs Robert Gunnels and SAU Tech Project Coordinator Amy W. Perrin, and SWACCC TAACCCT Project Manager Linda S Lephiew, recently toured industry partner, Lockheed Martin, represented by HR & Training Manager Rebecca Ives, Senior Manager Production, Planning & Control Susie E. Martin, PP&C Warehouse Supervisor Jimmy Hammack, PP&C Program Lead HIMARS Launcher Scott Reynolds, and Subcontract Admin. Manager (SEMAC) Chris Hughes. Lockheed Martin Representatives took SWACCC team members through a tutorial presentation utilizing their Systems Application Production / Enterprise Resource Center (SAP ERP 6.0). However, the meeting focused on how the Supply Chain Management application aids the company with the process of resourcing its manufacturing and service processes needs. Much enthusiasm was given towards the implementation of training for both current and future employees on SAP with the additional implementation of Industry Driven Certifications being made available. A follow up site tour was provided in order for the SWACCC Members to experience the SAP process from "Receiving to Shipping". The employer mentioned that an individual having general knowledge of the SAP ERP system could potentially curve a full year of software training for that new employee.

  • The SWACCC selected SAU Tech Graphic Design student Alan Vargas's logo design to represent the consortium. The Presidents and Chancellors of the five colleges chose the logo from a group of logos submitted by students from SAU Tech's graphic design program.
